Hi....Capsicums are not necessarily accompaniments in kadai paneer, mix veg sabzi and paneer bhurji. They can be the main dish also. This recipe looks complicated yet very easy and tasty. I was helped in this task by my mom-in-law, an expert in cooking North Indian dishes. Come on, let's have a look at the recipe.
Preparation time: 45 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Serves - 3-4
Ingredients:
Capsicum - 12 (small and even sized)
Potato - 4
Ginger - 1 inch finely chopped
Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - as required
Method:
Boil potatoes and mash them. Add ginger, red chilli powder and required salt; mix well and keep aside.
Take small even sized capsicums and scoop out the seeds with a knife.
Stuff in the capsicums with the already prepared potato masala.
Heat a non-stick pan, grease with oil and add the stuffed capsicums. Add required salt for capsicums (Remember! we have already added salt for potato masala). Cook on medium flame.
Cover and cook until the capsicums turn soft (but not mushy).
Shimla Mirch Bharwa is ready. Serve hot with rotis!
Tip:
Potato masala can be prepared using other spices like red chilli powder, coriander powder, jeera powder, garam masala powder and amchur powder.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
