Pearl millet/ Bajra, a widely grown millet, is rich in protein, minerals and fiber. Unlike paddy, bajra requires very less water to grow and hence, it's very popular in Rajasthan. This diabetic friendly millet helps in weight loss, lowers blood pressure and even reduces the risks of heart attacks. You can make various dishes with bajra like bajre ki roti, porridge, kichdi, cookies, etc. Today, I made dosai with bajra and wanted to share the recipe with you all.
Ingredients:
Idli rice - 1 cup
Kambu/ Bajra - 1 cup
Whole Urad dal - 1/2 cup
Salt - as required
Water - as required
Method:
Soak idli rice, kambu and urad dal together for 7 hours or overnight. Grind them to a smooth batter by adding required salt and water.
Allow the batter to ferment for 5-6 hours.
Heat a tawa, drizzle some oil, pour a ladle of kambu maavu and make dosai. Drizzle some oil over it.
Now flip the dosai to the other side; ensure both the sides are cooked well.
Remove dosai from the tawa; Serve 'hot n crispy' kambu dosai with onion chutney.
